our candles

  • uniquely scented

each small batch is created with Magick, nature, and wellness in mind:

+ afterglow - warm and citrusy, reminiscent of a rich, summer sunset.

+ wildwood - floral and woodsy, like a lush meadow after a light rainfall.

+ ease up - calming spearmint and soothing cedarwood, reminding us to breathe and relax into our truth.

+ nightfall - deep mellow blossoms, like the comforting dark at the end of the day.

candles throw a soft scent and glow for approximately 24 hours.  every candle is hand-poured, using only natural soy wax and 100% essential oils because things are always better when they are real and bright and true.

  • eclectic gemstones

every candle contains a small collection of hand selected crystals and minerals, including at least one precious Herkimer “diamond”, mined by our own hands and placed in your candle with care.  crystals and minerals should be reclaimed, treasured or gifted, after soaking them in hot, soapy water to remove any remaining waxy residue using a gentle scrub.  only glass canning jars are used to hold each creation and can be reused after they are properly cleaned and sanitized to remove any remaining wax and essential oil.

  • original poem

stowed away like a piece of treasure, each candle holds an original tiny poem inside a small reusable canister.  grounded in the belief that poetry can bridge experiences, people and moments, each word brings with it the spirit of poet kari jo.  more than just words, each poem is an offering: a reminder that we’re not alone and that beauty can be found in the courage it takes to share something true.

about kari jo

i see the world through words and desire a connection to each reader by gently reminding them of our shared feelings, and the power we invoke during the act of sharing such intimacies with each other.

i began writing at a very tender age to release, retell, and recenter, but never believed I could share my poetry with others.  in 2017, i gathered up my courage, stepped onto a small stage, and spoke my poetry out loud for the first time.  i marveled at the diverse community of poets!  from every walk of life, every color, every gender, every soul connected in those moments - all holding space for each other.  it’s one of the greatest gifts i’ve received.

my hope now is to share this gift of connection with you through each original poem.  i self-published my first collection of selected poems in 2018 and was a featured artist at a small local event in 2019.  in the years since, two of my poems were selected for display and print through the Kellogg-Hubbard library in honor of National Poetry month.

i gather with other poets and writers as often as i can and stubbornly refuse to let go of hope.
